2026 Hall of Fame inductee Richard Simpson

Raleigh, N.C., June 19, 2026

The North Carolina Poultry Federation (NCPF) proudly honors the life and legacy of Mr. Richard L. Simpson with his induction into the Poultry Hall of Fame, recognizing a lifetime of leadership, service, and lasting impact on the poultry and egg industry in North Carolina and across the nation. The ceremony was held at the NC State University Club in Raleigh on June 10th, 2026.

This award was established to honor members of the NC Poultry industry whose contributions leave a lasting impact on the poultry industry. Individuals nominated for this award have shown dedication, leadership, and tireless effort in shaping not only their success, but the growth and development of the industry statewide.

From his roots in the New Salem community, Richard built on a legacy begun by his grandfather in 1925, leading Simpson's Eggs, in Monroe, NC with vision and care. Under his guidance, the family business grew into a trusted name in the industry and remains a proud fourth-generation farm—an enduring testament to Richard's commitment to stewardship and sustainability.

Richard's influence reached far beyond his own operation. Through decades of leadership at both the state and national levels, he helped shape the future of the egg industry with practical wisdom, innovation, and a genuine desire to serve others.

"Richard Simpson stands among the very best of them - not just for what he accomplished, but for how he accomplished it: with integrity, kindness, and quiet strength," said Elisa Maloberti of the American Egg Board. "He was a good man - steady, kind, principled, and genuinely devoted to the people and the work he believed in."

The induction of Mr. Richard L. Simpson into the North Carolina Poultry Federation's Poultry Hall of Fame stands as a testament not only to his professional accomplishments but to a life lived in service to others, guided by faith, humility, and deep commitment to faith, family, and community.
